The Perfect Date…at Home Romance Rundown

The Perfect Date…at Home

You don't need to go out to have a good time!

Take a minute and think about your perfect date. Does your perfect date have you in Paris sitting in front of candle lit dinner with someone playing a romantic tune on a violin in the background? Are you sitting on the white sandy beaches of Bora Bora sipping on Moscato and eating fresh fruit? How about sitting in a gondola floating down the streams of Venice while star-gazing?

All of these dates sound just dreamy! The reality is that we all have our dream dates, but 99% of the time they are super elaborate. Sometimes our day-to-day schedules limit the time spent with our special someone and can dull the fiery spark you have for one another. Did you know you can have the “perfect” date night right at home? Take out the thought of work, the hustle and bustle of your Monday to Friday schedule, delay your chores and put the kids to bed early or send them to grandma’s house. Clock out for a night and enjoy a date with your loved one.

Check out our top at-home dates and try them out for yourself!

Homemade Dinner-For-Two

Nothing says romance like the flavors of an elegantly prepared home-cooked meal. If you can’t get out for a night (and are a little tight with your wallet) stay home and make you and your loved one a dinner that’s fancy, simple or somewhere in between. At home there is no need to order off a menu or worry about tipping the waiter, plus you can have whatever your heart desires. Make it a steak and lobster night or even a gourmet grilled cheese night. Set the table with a bottle of wine or champagne, light some candles and taste the romance.

Romantic Bath

Any night is a good night to soak in a warm tub. But what makes it even better is when it is filled with bubbles and topped off with rose petals. Spend the night lounging in your tub and make sure to dim the lights and add some candles to really set the mood. Don’t forget to leave some room for your special someone to join you!

Lover’s Camp Out

Who needs a campground when you have a living room or a back yard? You can have your very own romantic camping trip right in your home! Pitch a tent in the backyard or create your own fort with pillows and blankets. Accent it with a string of lights, some snacks, wine and a little music. For our city lovers, there is no shame in making a blanket fort in the living room! Get cozy for the night, we promise you’ll love it. PS- Our camping trip date isn’t for the little ones; it’s for you and your honey!

Game Night for Sweethearts

Bring out Candyland, Twister and whatever other games you have hiding in the closet! Sit down with your lover for a night of games. This is the perfect date for a Friday night after a long day at work when you just want to relax and maybe have a little competition thrown into the mix with head-to-head board games. We recommend Battle of the Sexes card game, Buzzword, Pigs dice game, Jenga and Blokus! But keep in mind not all of the games have to be PG…

“The Perfect Pair,” Chocolate & Wine Night

There couldn’t be a more perfect pair…and we aren’t just talking about the chocolate and wine! Everyone loves chocolate, especially when it’s paired with wine. Grab some chocolate from the grocery store and a cheap bottle of wine (or two) for your “perfect pair” night to celebrate the love you and your sweetheart have for each other while indulging in an array of delectable tastes for your delicious date night.

Sensual Spa Night

Believe us when we tell you that you don’t have to spend $250 on a massage at a spa. Instead plan a sensual spa night with your lover to really get “handsy” with each other. If you have no idea what services are offered at a spa, Google is here to help! There are tons of do it yourself face mask recipes online, everyone is capable of giving a hand or foot rub and this date will give you the opportunity to put on the robe you both never wear and relax for the night.

Movie Date

Let your imagination run wild with a movie date night! Grab a movie from Netflix or RedBox and cuddle up for the night under a pile of blankets with a bucket of popcorn. If you’re really feeling up to it, you could set up a romantic move theater outside with blankets, pillows and strings of lights. All you’ll need is Wi-Fi or a DVD player, a movie and your love for each other.

Pizza Bake & Date

Pizza bake and date really explains it all for this at-home date night. Make sure to pick up dough, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese on your way home from work; make it as fancy as you want with additional toppings or you could purchase a frozen pizza and heat it up. Either way, you’ll be heating up the night with your delicious pizza creation. Plus, we don’t think there is a single person out there who can resist the temptation of pizza.

Dirty Dancing

You don’t need to be as good at dancing as Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in the 1987 “Dirty Dancing” movie, but there is no reason why you can’t give it a shot! Move the coffee table out of the living room and grab your sweetheart for a night of dancing. We rely fully on YouTube for learning the dirty dance moves! Search for “beginners dance lessons” and pick from salsa, tango, hip-hop, swing and more.

Party for two

There’s no need for an invite to this party! Take a night out of your weekend for a themed date night. Tropical, 80’s, carnival or even a mustache theme could work! Make it a one-of-a-kind date night for two and celebrate your love.

From pizza parties to board game nights to an evening spent under the stars, you could have the best date of your life right in the comfort of your home! Have a good date idea? Make sure to share it with us!
